Mercury tattoo studio presents:

Wolves, Witches, and Clever Children

A very Grimm art show.

Saturday April 14th, 2012
Art show at Mercury from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Jay Berndt at Siren Records 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Mercury Opening/After party with:
Jay Berndt and the Orphans
& Top Soil
At MOM's starting at 10:00 PM

This will be the 1st gallery show at Mercury's new location in Doylestown. It will also be the first in our planned series of shows. We are anticipating at least 4 shows per year and are excited to get the ball rolling with this fairy tale themed group show.

"Wolves, Witches & Clever Children" as the show is named, is a group art show themed to Grimm's fairy tales. The invited artists were asked to tie their work in to one of the hundreds of stories collected and retold by the Brothers Grimm. Speaking for myself, it was a very difficult choice which story I wanted to work out. Even stories I thought I was familiar with, when visited now, are much darker and surreal than what I remembered from my childhood.

To accompany the gallery show we will be having a home brew and cider tasting. Our thanks in advance to good friends Dylan Steeb and Lee Mcginniss. They are brewing beers to accompany the Grimm fairy tale theme! I was lucky enough to taste them already... and to be sure, these guys are skilled!

While we will be having the art show at Mercury, we will also be hosting Jay Berndt at Siren Records a stones throw from our front door! Jason is a dear friend that also happens to be an amazing singer and songwriter from Providence, RI. His style is hard to put a label on as his influences are as varied as: country/blues/soul/rock and punk. At any given point any of those influences can be clearly found in his playing/singing style. His solo work is most closely tied to the Americana traditions. Jay's website is www.jayberndt.com (he will also be playing with his band Jay Berndt and the Orphans as well as a killer local folk punk band "Top Soil" at the after party but more on that in a moment) Siren has been one of my favorite record shops since I was a teenager and I could not be more excited to be able to work with them on this! Hopefully it will serve to kick off our plan to start promoting a lot more shows in town.

Finally we are really excited to be having our after party at MOM's just around the corner from the shop! As mentioned earlier Jay Berndt and the Orphans will be playing along with good friends Top Soil from Frenchtown NJ. Top Soil is made up of Squidd and Rich Cahill (who also happens to be one hell of a good Tattooer as well www.richcahill.com) to describe them as bluegrass/anarcho punk doesn't make sense until you hear them. Then it just plain works. Top Soil's website is: www.topsoilpunks.com MOM's is located at 37 N Main Street Doylestown PA 18901. Just around the corner from Mercury. In our short time being open in town, we have quickly become friends and supporters of theirs for sure. They themselves are very supportive and are allowing us the opportunity to host this show in their newly renovated upstairs venue!

We hope you can make it out to help us kick off our first art show in the new shop and take the opportunity to see the bands at Siren and Moms!

Thanks!

Scott Bramble

WELCOME TO MERCURY TATTOO STUDIO & GALLERY!

Now located at 19 Donaldson St. in beautiful downtown Doylestown, PA.

After 11 wonderful years in Glenside, Mercury Tattoo has a new home in the heart of Bucks County Pennsylvania! We are truly grateful to our friends and clients who made our shop in Glenside so successful. Part of the goal in opening the new location has been to carry over the comfortable and creative atmosphere we built in Glenside. Not only did we accomplish that, but we really stepped up our game in Doylestown. This new space provided us the opportunity to build our dream shop. With the help of some dear friends, we did just that. So, though it is sad to close the Glenside location, We are extremely excited to call Doylestown our new home.*

Owner/Artist, Scott Bramble and full time artist, Frank Guthier continue to offer the same commitment and passion for tattooing that has granted Mercury such a strong reputation. To add to their offerings, Mercury will be hosting a variety of talented guest artist as well as multiple special events and art shows throughout the year. In the past we have offered things like clothing and fine art prints. We will be working harder to provide new products and art all the time. Of course the main focus and drive is always tattooing. Clients may choose to make an appointment or choose to walk-in and get tattooed. We try to offer walk-ins daily on a first come, first serve basis. Cash or Credit Cards accepted!

Another exciting aspect of the new shop is the chance to be members of the Doylestown business and cultural Community. We encourage friends and clients to take advantage of the museums, shops and restaurants that the area has to offer. We couldn’t be more excited to be here and we expect that you will be too!
