This August 13th happens to be the only Friday 13th in 2010.
To commemorate this unluckiest of days, we are planning an all day benefit for some dear friends of ours. We will be tattooing designs from sheets of flash we are painting just for the event. All of the designs of course are all themed to the day! Each design will be a set price of either $50 (less than our usual shop minimum!) or $100. To be sure we can fit everyone in for this day of luck and charity, we will be working solidly from 12 noon to 12 midnight. Look for examples of the designs we are painting to be posted here soon! Also we plan to be raffling off original artwork, prints, t-shirts, and even a few gift certificates. The raffle will be set for 8pm so get there earlier to get your tickets and win!
As for the charity part of the day’s events, the good karma will offset all the bad luck… honest. We will be donating 90% of the days tattooing and 100% of the raffle money to the friends I mentioned previously. To be clear, we chose to keep the folks names and specific circumstances private. We don’t wish to put them under a spotlight, only to give them a hand because we know they would do the same for us.
So stop back here soon to see some of the designs we are painting, and more importantly stop in on the 13th and pick up a (un)lucky tattoo for a good cause!

Scott did a pair of paintings for the Tattoo handbook 2!
Below is a teaser photo of the paintings for the book. The concept of the project is simply the artwork needs to be related to tattooed hands, or designs for tattoos on hands. Scott did two paintings, one for each hand. They are themed to the American Civil War. Beyond that, watch out here for more info about the release date of the book itself. The artists involved in this project are all pretty amazing, and we cant wait to see all the entries ourselves!
